Refund Policy

Our Fair Marketplace Promise: VokPanda balances the rights of students and tutors. We
offer a 100% refund within the first 24 hours of booking, and pro-rated refunds thereafter to ensure
tutors are fairly compensated for their time.
3. Marketplace Pricing Structure
VokPanda operates on a transparent pricing model. The "Listed Price" you see on a tutor's profile is the
base amount. VokPanda applies a standardized 1.036 ratio for the final payment:
- Base Amount (Listed Price): Includes the tutor's share (80%) and the platform
commission (20%).
- GST (18% on Platform Fee): A 3.6% effective tax (18% of the 20% commission) is
added to the base amount.
- Total Paid by Student: Listed Price + GST on Commission.
4. Phase 1: 1-Day Full Refund (Cooling-off Period)
If you change your mind within 24 hours of the payment (booking date), you are eligible
for a 100% Full Refund. All fees, including platform commission and GST, are returned
to you.
5. Phase 2: 7-Day Pro-rated Refund
If you cancel within the first 7 days of the course start date, your refund will be
processed with the following deductions:
- Platform Commission: The platform service fee (20% of the listed price) is
deducted.
- GST: GST on the platform fee is deducted.
- Tutor Compensation: A pro-rated amount for the days already taught (Daily Rate ×
Days Elapsed) is deducted from the tutor's 80% share.
6. Phase 3: Weekly Pro-rated Refund
If you cancel after the first 7 days of the course start date, your refund is calculated
based on weekly milestones:
Important: Any started week after the first 7 days is considered a full billing week.
Transparency matters to us, so please note that if you cancel in the middle of a week, you will still be
charged for that full week.
- Platform Commission & GST: These are deducted in full.
- Tutor Compensation: A pro-rated amount for the weeks already elapsed (Weekly Rate ×
Current Week) is deducted.
- You will receive a refund for all future, unreleased weeks of the tutor's share.
7. Tutor Cancellations & No-Shows
If a tutor cancels a booked lesson, or fails to show up for a scheduled session, you will automatically
receive a full refund or a free reschedule, at your preference.
8. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund within the valid window, please navigate to your Bookings in the
VokPanda app, select the specific lesson or course, and tap Request Refund. You will be
asked to provide a brief reason for the request.
9. Processing Time & Method
Once a refund is approved by our support team, the funds will be automatically credited back to your
original payment method (Credit Card, UPI, NetBanking, etc.).
Timeline: Please allow 5 to 7 business days for the refund to reflect
in your bank account, depending on your financial institution's processing time.
10. Fraud & Abuse Prevention
VokPanda actively monitors refund velocity to protect our tutors. If our system detects an excessive
pattern of bookings followed by refund requests (e.g., "buy-and-refund" abuse), we reserve the right to
flag your account, reject future refund requests, or suspend your access to the platform.
